A string of murders has
baffled the police with only one clue – taunting notes from someone calling
himself Dr. Rx! Thankfully, a newly married and recently retired private
detective takes one last case to figure out the identity of Dr. Rx and stop him
once and for all.
This title’s hilarious
because it reads as if it’s “Dr. Prescription,” but in the film they say the
two letters, “R” and “X.” I think Dr. Prescription is a better name, but
whatever. Yet another whodunnit surprised me with its conclusion yet again, but
threw in some out-of-left-field stuff, like a bit with a mad scientist and a
gorilla and the threat of a brain transfer! This, with mere minutes left to go
in the runtime! That’s the great stuff you randomly get in Universal horror
land.
